The images above are that of a very fine mahogany candle tilt- top table.
I located this item at a secondhand store in the South Bronx of New York City.
The table is small in size, with a oval table top set on a bublous turn shaft raised, raised on delicate arched spider legs.
Circa about 1820 the table is in excellent condition for its age.
The underside of the table has a paper that is not ledge able and
    the words patent pendinget.
It appears to be a one of a kind saleman sample that would have been a prototype for the original that would have been purchased.
As always, I welcome any any all information provided in association with this item.

Thank you very much for taking a look see.

      Looks to be 20th century.

Is the "patent pending" on the brass latching device? A close up of it may help in finding it in a patent search-- that would give you a no earlier date.

The patent pending is on the wood portion of the table, not the latch.

It is very much 20th century up to 1960 or so.
