Found this at a goodwill store in Ohio. No markings, not very good shape but it's awesome. The face appears to be coated with some kind of material as you see it is cracked throughout. The material on the feet and hands is also cracked off revealing what appears to almost be some sort of pressed wood. The only thing on the doll is a raised letter F on the back of the head/neck area. The body is cloth and stuffed with some kind of filler material. And on the back of the doll, there is a round rust stain, will some sort of piece sewn into the back of the doll. Any information on this would be great as I would like to research a little more and have no clue where to start.
She is a what is called a "Mama Doll" The round box you see was a crier and when squeezed or tipped it made a sound like mama . She is made of composition and was poorly stored that is what caused all the paint to flake off and peel . I am not sure that she is marked with a F it appears to be way paint cracked . Many of these were unmarked but made in USA . Dating 1930-40's appx . She is in pretty rough shape but the important thing is do you enjoy her .
