Yesterday I was wondering about the origins of the rose bowl in image one. At the last moment I had found a link to two vases, that seven years ago, ozmarty had posted as Kralik? I added it to yesterday's post and it's there I want to start today.

Please click that link, posted below in Comments, before reading any more!

You will see that ozmarty's vases sit on five thorny feet and have a line of rigaree, in the form of thorny feet, descending from the rim. It is my contention that those feet are in the house style of Welz rather than in the house style of Kralik.

Image two, Kralik pieces with three thorny feet....... many thorns, and not only on the foot.

Image three, Welz thorn vases with five thorny feet........ always two thorns per foot.

Image four, Welz vases on thorny feet with descending rigaree of thorny feet.

Does the style of foot on ozmarty's vases make it likely that the vases themselves are Welz? And following from there is my pedestal rose bowl also likely Welz?

As before, please let me know what you think.

I'm certainly in no position to be making attributions but it is fascinating watching the process develop. Thank you.

Well me neither, but sometimes you see a possible connection you'd not noticed before. But certainly don't thank me. Sometimes it's simply down to having the right pieces of glass and wondering, whether, maybe....... And not minding being wrong of course!
