I previously owned a sign company and fell in love with these decanters. My decor was western or rustic back in 2003. I bartered a sign for these lovely decanters. The business I did the large sign for was a mid century antique store and these two decanters were items listed as mid century western decanter's. The owner stated that they were worth ($$$$$.$$) a lot of money and he was reluctant to part with them but kindly accepted the barter. I am unable to find anything on the decanters shaped like a lantern. The owner stated that they were copper hammered decanters that they used way back in the western days. I am hoping that you can help me figure out what the worth is and what the story is behind these two decanters. The decanters have the Denmark stamp on the bottom. I read that this marking indicates it is a Danish piece. It also states Monster Beskyttet, I read that this marking indicates it is a Danish protected patent. It has the number 500 on the glass bottom. I read that the number 500 indicates that there is metal over glass. I also read that it could mean 500 ml. and it can also indicate how old the glass is. Several sites showed that it could be the 500th year of the company. I am not sure. The bottom also has an S with a C around it. One site stated that the S indicates silver and the C over it indicates that the item is copper over silver. This branding I am not sure of. I would like some help identifying the item correctly.
