From a small group of assorted tools actually bought at the auction, this weirdly curved little pair of pliers caught my eye. Took 'em to work with me yesterday to steel-wool a little bit of surface rust away, fully expecting to then take pics and post them here in an "UNSOLVED MYSTERY" posting. Happened to show them to a co-worker eating his lunch in the meanwhile, asking if he'd ever seen anything like 'em -- he hadn't.
Then 5mins later, he came up to me with a picture on his phone... "is this them?" YES it was -- so now I know these are "STEELDRAULIC brake pliers", which are apparently something you might use if you were doing maintenance work on a 1931 (or so) Pontiac.
Wow...I wouldn't have necessarily guessed THAT...?? <LOL>
Stamping on one side reads "DURO CHROME U.S.A. NO.2120".
