    It is a female, the male has more red at the bottom of the wing tips. It is from Indonesia-Australia. The display case for this is 6 inches wide so this is a fairly large butterfly. As it has an abdomen which means it feeds and lives for a bit. Not sure how long. Some butterflies don't feed live just long enough to breed and have no mouth parts. It is what it is to be a butterfly.
    The last photo shows a bit of my mental illness. I tend to overdo things. I am probably not the only one here who does that.

      Illness recognisable.....

      That butterfly is a beautiful shape, although it almost looks a bit moth-ish to me.
