I have came across this Stewart Warner Tire Pump from a local estate auction. The problem is that I cannot find out any information on when it was made and what applications it would work on. It turns freely and pumps the air out of the top valve stem. This was actually in a lot that I had bought and I thought it was just a piece of junk, but upon further inspections it seems to be a complete piece. I have found only one example of this and that was on a pick of a model a engine on Yahoo. Any help with figuring out some information on this pump would be greatly appreciated. The model # is 08-A and has a RPM rating of 650. The gear also had Stewart stamped on it with some other part numbers.
I have a similar pump on a 1918 nash model 671 which is really a Jeffery 671 just rebadged when Nash bought Jeffery motors. the unit sits on the transmission and the rod poking up turns to activate the air compressor.
By the way, your unit looks older in that the gear on my unit is enclosed, while yours is open.
