    PostCardCo…
    (437 items)

Here is another postcard sent to me in the latest batch of postcards for "scrapbooking"--and the oldest post card of greeting type in my collection, posted in 1905 from the catskills (Catskill,NY. to Saugerties,NY W.K. to Ethel.)
It says under the small sketches--"The Whole Damn Household"! and again I am blithered that folks that close to the turn of the century had no qualms about sending this thru the mail (even tho it is meant to be a joke.)
Included with names underneath, are left to right
    George ? Damn
    Young Mrs.Damn
    The Damn Fool (Clown)
    The Damn Kid
    The Damn Cook,(Oriental)
The Damn Nuisance (Shoe thrown at cat on fence)
I have a lot more postcards in the latest "scrapbooking order I received.
I have pangs just imagining the seller intended them to be cut up. That is 2 people/sellers without a clue--and a 3rd order on vintage cards is in the mail to me. FOR CHEAP!

I am adding to this post a 1903 Greeting postcard I just found in the same scrapbooking batch. UNDER THE PICTURE it says "Copyright 1903, The Ullman Co. N.Y". so now THAT one is my Earliest Postcard.
Hey! What is with all those well placed butts semi- circling his feet?

I'm vaguely familiar with The Whole Damn Family joke. Can't recall why it was popular, though.

there's a similar saying in Spanish: Al mal tiempo, buena cara! [facing bad times, a good face!]

I am not wild about old cards with the place for the writing on the front. I'd rather have a larger image there.
But I do enjoy reading people's mail. Hee Hee'
