This Victorian basket is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over a peachblow type shaded pink, with a white interior. It measures 21 cm tall. 17 cm across the crimped top rim, & 7 cm across the base, which has a polished out pontil mark. The basket features an applied handle in amber, an amber crest on the crimped rim, & a green & amber leaf trail with four white & pink flowers. The flowers are of particular interest to me, as even though I own numerous items with applied flowers, I have not seen any of this type before (except in books). The flowers are quite stylised & seem to be made from a single blob of glass formed in a mould.
An excellent op shop (thrift store) find - same day as the preceding ruby glass salts.
English or Bohemian origin?
What a find for an op shop! It is gorgeous! Might the flowers have been made by a crimping tool, as per the daisy crimp we touched on earlier?

Many thanks, sklo42...yes, one of my best finds ever. I agree, the flowers must have been made by some kind of crimping tool - they look distictly "stamped" in appearance. I forgot to mention that it also contains uranium, & has a nice glow under UV light, as well.

Thank you most kindly, welzebub...yes, I feel it is more likely Bohemian. The shop I got it from is one I've known for many years...had a few nice finds there recently after a long drought. I'd actually given up on going there as there was just no interesting glass at all...now it seems there's something almost every time.
