I'm thinking this one is more intended for use with a woodturning lathe instead of handcarving -- it might be something called a 'parting tool'. (or maybe not, its been a long time since my high school woodshop classes when I last paid much attention to woodturning tools...)
It's blade is a 1/4" angle ground to a 'V' cutting point. On its shank near the handle it has "39 ENGLAND" (I think it's 'a 3 anyway?) stamped into its underside, and some kind of logo-shape thing (that I can't identify) and "S CAST" on its top. The wood handle has one little line around its midsection and 3 near its end as 'decoration'. The whole thing is 8-1/2" long.
THANKS in advance, for all y'all's looks/loves/comments/suggestions!! :-)
