This is a beautiful Ruby 14K vintage ring. The top part of the ring is outlined in 14K white gold. It is technically 4 pieces, that is held together by the top Ruby. The top Ruby has a post that threads through the other pieces and and is secured underneath with a "square nut".

This is more in the style of what is called a Princess ring.

Thank you Efesgirl I have been wondering for awhile now.

Agree with Efesgirl that it qualifies as a princess ring. A friend in Australia told me that their market was quite flooded with them at one time, 1970s I think she said, & were coming out of Asia or Indonesia. This was after I showed her one I had purchased, set with chrysoprase, that had been acquired by seller's mother in Hong Kong during that period. :)

      Thanks again cameosleuth and Efesgirl.
Princess Ring was the key term I was missing.
I've been able to find a bit of information on them now.
Thanks for all the help and love's. You're all amazing !
