Hello everyone.
This pendant is a recent purchase.
Have no idea who the maker might be lol.
I think it is just so pretty and oh so very dainty! Measures about 3cm from top of bale.
I would say the chain, which is marked silver on the clasp, could be original to the piece.
A nice touch is the leaf on the bail.....really sweet:-)
Hope you enjoy seeing this and love it as much as I do. Perhaps someone might recognize this style of work and all comments most welcome. Thanks Judy
That's lovely, Judy! No help with the maker, though.... :-((((
Thanks Bonnie:-) must admit I am not overly concerned about the maker, I just adore it anyway and the price was very reasonable too!

Hi Jan, thank you. It actually is the 'operculum' of a mollusc: Turbo smaragdus/petholatus etc or Turban snails. It's the animal form of a 'hatch' and nicely is the same round or oval shape of a submarine's breech/hatch.
So part of a snail shell, amazing isn't it :-)
Thanks Melanie for the links:-)
you are very welcome ;)
lovely necklace
Is anyone having trouble with trying to post pictures using the computer? I had to post this one using the tablet which I find a little more dificult.
Beautiful bit of shell, Judy, I too thought it was a cat's eye, then saw the swirl on the back of the pendant. :)
Hi Katherine, thanks for the comment:-) Glad you love this little beauty, I am really over the moon, so happy to have it:-)
Judy, can't help either with your "mysterious maker" ;-)
Really a nice Arts and Crafts pendant, gracious and in perfect condition with its chain, BRAVO for your catch!
Thanks Pascale, I really love it and your description of "gracious" is just perfect for it:-) )
Thanks very much to all 18 friends for visiting and the appreciation :-)
That is called a CATS EYE from a Pacific Ocean shell--the little door for the shell's resident. Beautiful color.
I like this a lot Judy! Some operculum are too big and make me uneasy for some reason, but this one is perfectly suited to the mount. Well done with the original chain too!
Thank you Funtocollectglass:-)
