This is a 6 paneled footed goblet with hand painted scene of two golfers toasting with glasses of beer, I think. There are two bottles on bench-one has a letter B on it. Blatz Beer maybe? I read online that affluent, well- dressed golfers wore plus fours (knickers cut 4 inches longer than usual), patterned golf hose, two toned "spectator shoes" and shirts and ties. A knitted cardigan often worn on cold days-the golfers painted on the glass are wearing all these items. Does it mean that's the era when this glass was made I wonder. The green glass looks like its uranium glass. It is thick, heavy glass with underside of footed base painted black.

Hi Postcard Collector, I wish it did come from a set then I might have been able to find another online but I've been searching for years and never have. I find its so frustrating not knowing anything about a piece and kind of odd I cannot find something similar. But thats part of the reason we're all meeting up here at Collectors Weekly, isn't it? I was really hoping someone knew about it...

Is by chance this Uranium glass? Does it glow under UV light. It would help to date it 1930's.

Yes, it glows under black light. I do think that is the correct era for this piece, thank you. It’s hard to understand why I cannot find anything like it to compare it with and find more info on it. Darn...well thanks for your interest, I very much appreciate your response, caperkid!

Your welcome they are quite unique.

Actually caperkid, there is only one glass, unfortunately. Because nothing like it appears online, I have absolutely no info about its origin. I even suspect it may not have made in America. Could be Continental because uranium glass was also produced there. Game of golf originated in Ireland so maybe it was made there or in England, who knows? It really is an UNSOLVED MYSTERY!

Can you see what is on the bottle they are drinking from?
    9. funtocollectglass funtocollectglass, 7 years ago
Hi there caperkid—the only image I can see is that on the left bottle there is a “B”.
