Just wondering if anyone could tell me anything about this lamp. Picked it up today to clean up and re wire to add to a vintage makeup room for the wife. I just thought it was interesting and hoping to learn more about it from someone.

The shade appears to be one added much later. This one uses some of the parts of the more modern ones from the later 40's when they were still being produced. The earlier 20's ones had different parts on them and generally more decorative ones. They are commonly called bridge lamps.

Thank you. So I take it that my lamp is most likely from the 40s from what you say. Other than the shade you think Most other parts are original

I dunno, that cord and plug look a little earlier. Toss the cord, but keep the plug. People like I buy those things (cheap as they're considered unsafe, though there's nothing unsafe about them just because one prong isn't wider than the other, unless it's corroded), but most people throw them out!
Flip it over and Google any letters you find. Maybe include 'lamp' into the search.

Strange that they did not just put a long piece of wire through the top and wire it to the bottom through the piping. Very dangerous, as some idiot wired this.
