An extremely nice condition unissued Highland Regiment Patrol Frock. The condition of this frock is outstanding for a uniform that's over 100 years old. This uniform is straight from the Army Quartermaster's store. It has never been issued nor worn, and it's condition reflects that. It is the best one condition wise I've ever seen personally. Unissued frocks I imagine are quite rare, especially to the Scottish regiments, and not many are seen outside of museums, and one in this shape is a real bonus. It honestly look like it was just manufactured, yet it is over 100 years old.

The frock sports 6 buttons down the middle of the tunic, 4 of which are in their original paper wrapping! The other two are blanked and have not been polished, but the buttons are still in nice condition. The other buttons (3 per pocket flag and 3 per cuff) are all "shiny" and are looking good.

The belt hooks to each side of the tunic also both have their original paper wrapping on it.

The interior is in just as good of condition. It sports its original paper label in very nice shape. The frock is dated "Jan 1913". Also to the interior is an original War Department stamp.

When I got this tunic, it was listed as a Gordon Highlanders Frock. It was never issued, so this frock is to no specific regiment, but had it been issued, it would have been to either the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, or the Gordon Highlanders as they wore yellow (for highland regiments) as their facings, on cuffs, or in the case of this frock, its collar.

The Seaforths and Highland Light Infantry wore a buff colour, and all other Scottish regiments had a Royal Designation, and thus wore blue facings.

Overall a fantastic condition unissued frock to a Highland Regiment. Fantastic example that has stood the test of time, and is in stunning shape for over 100 years old.
