Swan Floating Soap was a competitor to Procter & Gamble's Ivory Soap. At one point Ivory Soap changed its formula to be more like Swan Soap and Procter & Gamble had to pay Lever Brothers over $5 million and this was in the 1940s. Ironically Swan Soap disappears sometime after 1951 only to be seen in antique malls. Apparently it was money well spent by P&G as Ivory Soap is a household name.
It's a lovely package.
A very nice piece, I really like it.
Going on a road trip everybody. Will be back in a few days.
Have fun Fortapache! Oh, and don't forget to take plenty of photos of any antiques you find!
(If you find any)
