Southerner…
(23 items)
Hi Everyone.
I am needing some help on these two Oil Painting portraits I found today at an estate sale.
Here is what I know.
These are actual Oil paintings
Two brush hairs still stuck in Paint
Both have uneven brush overlaps to edges
Both measure about 30cm x 41cm
First Painting Pink Dress
Portrait of Marie Josephine of Savoy
Artist: Jean-Baptiste Andre Gautier d Agoty
Pointing to her husband
Portrait of her father
Second Painting Blue Dress
Portrait of Marie Therese of Savoy
Artist: also Jean Baptiste
Includes her mother Marie Antoinette Ferdinanda of Sardinia
Bust of her husband Count of Artois
Who later became King Charles X of France
Now... I have taken both of these out of their frames and they both have brush stroked edges.. not straight lines
Natural age to paintings and back shows centuries of real age
I saw online that these paintings were at one time at Versailles but now when I go to the collection of paintings there I do not find them at all.
Any clue? Are these paintings EXACT reproductions or could they possibly be the originals? I'm stumped.
Originals are 86 × 68 cm and are still at the Château de Versailles.
