We got this sign in Iowa last week on a sign Pickin trip. Republic Oil started in Texas City Texas in 1931 and was bought out by the Plymouth Oil Co in the 50s and later bought by Marathon Oil. Bigger Fish are always consuming the little fish it seems. The Republic sign graphics are hard to beat and these guys are rare anymore. In all our hunting this is the first one of these we've ever seen for sale. We are thrilled to have found this one and it will soon be displayed for all to see at the new, yet to be built, Lakeside Event Center in Provo Ut.

That must be the going rate as that's what we had to pay for this guy! Waaaaay too much but where you gonna find another one? They sure don't exist in Utah! The prices are out of control but the demand continues to go up and the supply continues to decrease with time as Collectors like us buy them up and keep them out of circulation.
I would of payed 2,000 for this sign !!! It's in great shape !! What's the other side look like? The one that was offered to me looked like it was in a hail storm and full of chips !!

Both sides about the same. Not perfect by any means but very nice for a sign like this.
