Medal has a ribbon in Red & Gold. Attached is a rectangle medal in gold color. On the medal is a torch and a crest with the words" P.S.75, Q". above that is the date "1939". On the rear is the word "Service".
Obviously its a medal from a NYC school, PS75 in Queens. What I would like to know is if anyone is familiar with this medal, why was it issued? Was it a special award or something the school issued for a particular event. Appreciate any information.

No one told me it was a school medal. I guess I just assumed that because it says PS 75 (Public School 75) The "Q" I assume was for Queens. I'm trying to find out if in fact it was from a school Thank you for your input.
