Had to go dumpster diving for this one (plus a few other goodies) from a small box of dusty old tools that somebody *else* at the shop apparently decided was 'in his way'. Oh, NO NO NO, methinks... ;-) :-)
Not sure I've ever seen a little drill of this design but apparently they're out there, a few others found with a quick check of eBay. Made by DUNLAP, it measures about 8" long overall and the handle is about 3-1/2" wide. It operates much like any other more typical hand-crank drill, but its gearing is contained within its housing instead of being exposed. Guessing 1950's/60's age range, with a couple drops of oil added, it seems to still operate flawlessly! :-)
I really like this little drill but I would think from the pictures that the crank would be knuckle buster with it that close to the handle.
