I was happy to win this card on eBay--$0.55
Raphael Tuck & Sons was a business started by Raphael Tuck and his wife in Bishopsgate in the City of London on October 1866, selling pictures and greeting cards, and eventually selling postcards, the latter being the most successful. Their business was one of the most well known in the 'postcard boom' of the early 1900s .... Tuck cards bore the message, “Art Publishers to Her Majesty the Queen"

This is a more expensive Tucks "OILETTE" card where the art is excellent as well as the coloring. It was mailed in 1910.
Most of the "oilette" cards had the brush stokes printed in relief, so you could feel the strokes just like a real painting. I have a series of these from Lake Winnipeg and some other themes, including buidings. Love yours also, a treasure.
PhilDMorris! Long before I collected much else, I did collect Tucks postcards, and thee were my favorites. Over the years I sold them as I raised 2 daughters alone, I often came up short $$--so bye-bye Tucks. I am tring to gather more. They are eye candy, I recall having some Tucks ships series that were just beautiul!! Thanks for leaving a comment. I am glad you like my card. from "Stanley to Miss Lily" 1910. A postcard someone kept all these years (maybe Lily for many of them)
Thanks for stopping by!
