This dinning set was passed down from my Great Aunt to my Grandmother, then to her daughters, and then to me. I have had it for the better part of 6 years before researching it at all. I'm pretty sure it's a Duncan Phyfe Replica Drop Leaf but it is however pretty old. I believe it must be circa early to mid 1900's. The hinges and screws appear to be the original, craftsmanship is excellent, and I believe it is solid wood, although, not sure what kind. With years of wear and tear it is actually in great condition. There is a shield marking of some kind in the drawer below the mid board of the table. There appears to be a shipping sticker under the table addressed to my Great Uncle. It reads his name, Weathers Bros. Jax, Fl, and that is all I know. Does anyone know the worth of these replica's? Is this trash or treasure? Do you bother to repair or no? Help?? Any info would be valuble to me as I am clueless.
The chairs are common, about 100 years old. However, the table looks to be more modern than the chairs -- very mid-century. It is unlikely that the table and chairs are a matched set due to the difference in styles.
I thought that too but both the table and chairs are marked from the same furniture company to my uncle. They seem to be the exact same wood and stain. I believe it is just a replica from the 50's or 60's. Even so the craftsmen shift is original and excellent at that.
I have one myself with claw feet, My momther recently passed away and i have hers now also with claw feet are they worth anything
