Fine photo on the spot of a garish tradgedy! A house and barn moments before there was nothing there. Very sad. You can still see the structure--.Well, there went all the family treasures and photographs!! I hope the family and the animales made it to safety.
Some person had enough presense of mind to snap this terrifying , yet amazing photo. And that is why I can show it to you now! Back says "Fire house and barn" (upsidedown near bottom in pencil). Vintage

I found a light mark arounnd the stamp box, Kodak Paper
Eastman Kodak began selling Velox photo paper with a pre-printed postcard back in 1902. The following year, Kodak released its No. 3A Folding Pocket camera, which used film specifically designed for postcard-size prints.

Wow, what a shot! I couldn't even imagine the devastation. No such thing as insurance back then...you can't put a value on personal items anyway. Nice info about the camera and film too.

Lots of insurance back then, shareurpassion. Insurance was HUGE then. Fire, Flood, and Storm damage was typical coverage. It's health-insurance that was lacking.

The person had more than just a little knowledge on his camera, as the burning portions are fully seen and centred.

Not exactly the nicest photo for a postcard though.

It is a VERY strange subject I agree. One I have never seen before. I know nothing about insurance--but what I worried about was the irreplacible family hisory, That is an incredible loss. There may have been more to the story and the shots taken--This seems to he just the house--yet the writing on the back mentions that the barn burned too. I doubt I'll ever see more than this rare photo here.- It is sooo good I thought maybe it might have been a news man,or newspaper photographer that did such a fine job getting this photo. They had to have been shaken being there as it hsppened.
