Story goes that 3 of these Hanomag Hannover Diesels came from Germany to Canada before the factory was destroyed during the war. Two of them have been scraped and this could be the last one left. Tug no. 287402, PS/N 361100, Engine No. 11988, Hub Vol.ccm 5160, Gew.Kg.2500. Can anyone verify this? We have not been able to find another one like it.

Wow! Think this is the RD36, judging from the serial number 36/1100. What's the external engine to the left? A modification or original? What does it do?

I don't now about the factory being destroyed. Maybe it was hit but it didn't really have an impact on the business. They were a large manufacturer of army vehicles throughout the WWII and the tractor division kept on producing tractors until 1969 when bought by Massey Ferguson. (When I was a kid in the 70's there were a lot of Hanomag Henschel trucks on the streets in Europe).

What you see on the side is a starter engine that is a modification. Thankyou for your information.
