Speaking of Oatman I bought this at the antique store in Oatman. Taxidermy is my only weakness and this is an impressive fish.
The odd thing is that the plaque claims it was a 10 pound fish but this fish is over 30" and would be at least 20 pounds. It is a big fish by the way. Probably whoever made the plaque made a mistake and id didn't seem important to fix it. Odd considering the cost of preserving a fish like this.
As for my skill as an angler I have none. I have never caught a fish although I have tried. I was on a fishing boat where everyone caught their limit and I had nothing. Will stick to antiquing.
I have always wondered - what does walleye mean?
I've had mounts made for Muskellunge and Northern Pike that I caught but never for Walleye. Walleye fillets are just too good to eat to put on a wall....IMO :)
Thank you very much racer4four. I think it has to do with the weird eyes.
Thank you very much Jancal20. I hunt for them at antique malls etc.
Thank you very much buckethead. This one is 67 years old so not as tasty.

Thank you kyratango.
Love those mounted heads of fish and animals, always regret we didn't have our precious 'keets preserved like that
Thank you very much Newfld. Apparently taxidermy is back in style.
Thank you SEAN68.
