This one was bought from EBay France!
The auction pics weren't that good... Pastes looked dull, but the maker's mark was visible ;-))
Outstanding sparkle, as you can see.
The mark too is very neat, I still see an etruscan urn or amphora...
5cm by 4cm, part of the mechanism is silvered copper (rather red than yellow metal...)
Mystery to be continued ;-))
Very nice. The maker's mark does have the look of a handled (or eared) jug. Also see possibility that it is a crown over something else I can't make out. The tiny maker's mark on my French Pan brooch has a star over something similar.
Ohh so beautiful ! love love
Ahhh Pascale!! What can I say......soo beautiful but oh so frustrating!!
One day out of the blue this maker WILL be found lol :-) )
Cameosleuth, yes, a handled amphora, urn :-)
I so wish there were an extensive repertory of all maker's marks with symbols... Thank you for your interest and nice comment!
Mani! Thank you, you are the lovely one :-))
Gary, thank you! It seems others searched this maker for years, and still nothing... have a nive day too, dear friend!
Judy, HA! So frustrating!!! Somewhere someone must know...
Thank you :-D
Lots of thanks to the 10 lovely lovers!
beautiful!
Aww, thank you Marga for your beautiful comment and love :-)
There is probably some secret sellers circle somewhere - that likes to tease you with the urn mark... :)
Don't think this helps, but here are some French makers who use an amphora in their mark: Audebert, Berthe ( a widow of a jeweller); Gaultier, Alfred; Jarre, Jean. These marks are all the maker's initials either side of the vessel.
Yep Lentilka! A kind of a conspiracy... lots of sellers are saying it is French hallmark!
Nope... the French amphora mark is for 999 silver bullions, and later than these pieces of jewellery! Thank you for your funny comment!
Cameosleuth, thanks for your concern in this mystery :-)
I explored all pages I could about maker's marks... With the 900 or 925 together with the "urn", and no other hallmarks, I'm pretty sure it is German.
I learn either way & always enjoy/appreciate that. Doing a quick check on German marks, agree the style of this one more consistent than with French. :)
Thanks for checking, Cameosleuth:-)
