    Hello I have pulled out this stone and thought I would take a pic of the condition found then when it's clean, hoping to learn a bit more about it.

      Yes this is diff to CZ but when it was dirty you couldn't tell the dif, went by edges and cut looks hand cut to me, what do you think

      I think I'm completely unqualified to say anything beyond that it might be worth showing it to a jeweler. Most know nothing about cameos but they're usually pretty good at distinguishing diamonds from things that only look like diamonds.

      Yes your right about them not knowing about cameo's , most of the the old jewellers have long gone, the ones I seem to find don't know much about old jewellery, and just see gold and don't even consider designs , unless it's Tiffany,

      Spot on. Many cannot even identify the materials used correctly & most have not seen enough cameos to know interesting ones from average, common ones They cannot differentiate competent work from excellent. If the setting is gold, they think the cameo must be good.
