Sharing my latest find 1930s Velo King Tricycle just got done taking it apart and cleaned and polished it up. The paint was very faded I was able to bring back the paint not bad for being over 80 years old. I have the brochure to the tricycle it is model 3-20 front wheel 20'' rear wheels 14'' and it sold for $18.77 when it was new
Nice Trike!
Thank you buckethead.
Kevin, you certainly acquired a couple of beautiful Velo King tricycles. Thank you for sharing the photos, and pretty neat you have some original literature. The larger model is the oldest of the two. Sometime in the 1940s Velo King changed the head style from being more pointed on earlier models to a more bulb shaped head as on your smaller model. Other than that, the basic tricycle style remained unchanged. I've been studying various mfrs. tricycle designs since the late 1980s and have learned to identify many of them even if the name is missing. I have three VKs needing restoration, a 12", 16", and 20" model. I've been trying to locate 8" rear wheels for the 12" model. Now that I'm retired I hope to have time to work on them. I've located other spare parts like pedal cranks but the wheels have been elusive. I haven't been on this site for about 5 years and had almost forgotten about it. Nice to see other collectors appreciate these older ride on toys.
Thank you ridingtoy, for the very nice comment the Velo King are one of the top of the line tricycle and I like them a lot.
