I picked up this box recently at a garage sale in an older upscale part of town. The only thing the owner knew about it was that it belonged to a very wealthy women she used to baby sit for and that is who she got it from.
From what research I have done since it looks like a tea box, but there is no markings to indicate that. The measurements are 17-1/2" wide, 13" tall, and 13-1/2" depth front to back. I am curious as to how old it might be, other than hinges it is nailed together. The hasp/latch on the front does not look like any I have seen but seem like it might be pretty old, or home made. The graphics on it appears to be painted. I would appreciate thoughts on how old this might be or any other information you might now about it.

That is just amazing!! For sure it is antique. Have you sniffed inside the box? The smell of tea might still linger. As we know, tea stains..the box looks like the inside might be stained. I would sure put that on display in your home. I would love to find something like this!! Lucky you!!
