This salad set had been on display in my mother-in-law's house in Auckland, New Zealand, for as long as my 68-year old husband can remember. We don't know the origin, guessing it might have been a wedding gift to his parents in the 1940's. It seems to be porcelain, rather than ceramic, but we could be wrong. It has silver around the top and the salad servers are made from the same materials. The mark on it looks a lot like a treble clef in music notation. There is also a number which may be useful to determine its origin. The painted scene is Dutch. It is about 10 inches in diameter (at the thickest point), about 5 inches high and quite heavy.
It is difficult to choose a suitable category.
More information would be much appreciated.
