The Second Piece Has Just Arrived...

I posted the open dish a few months ago. It is part of a dresser set, probably Bohemian. A while ago my mom sent me the second piece: A covered trinket box. There is some loss of the gilding because my mom put it in the dishwasher - oh dear!!! She wanted the box to be sparkling clean!
I wonder if I should try to put some gold paint on it. It should be easy to do because only the cut patterns were gilded. Any suggestions?
