The last venture to the charity shops resulting in these- two tiny little boxes. The black one I believe to be lacquered and not sure about the design except it looks Indian to me? The other one also looks to have some sort of Asian looking design on it. Both only cost me €3

Your black box does look to have a lacquer coating on it. I have a couple similiar to this one but they are actually "Russian" from the research I have done. Google "russian lacquer boxes" and you will see alot of similiar boxes. The horses are what remind me of the russians! Very pretty boxes. Later, Thrifty
