This chair came from Europe. The person we got it from suspects Eastern Europe. We call it our Vlad the Impaler chair. I know it’s called a king chair but I really don’t know much about it. I do see lots of replicas out there.

The eagle reminds me of the Polish symbol - just a bit more simplified.

Looks to be a Gothic King Lion Throne Chair. 1860-1870 maybe? Not sure what country but a beautiful chair

Who ever heard of a "king chair". Throne chair, yes. I have seen these a lot at auction houses, they all seem to have a pair. Even where I live. They are all reproductions and I do love them for what they are and what they are worth. I am not sure but could be made somewhere in the states. I do not deal in newer furniture so I am not sure who makes them.

"This item is made from solid wood imported from southeast Asia. Although the wood has been kiln dried at the factory, moisture is sometimes absorbed into the wood while in its humid origin. Swelling, shrinking and sometimes cracking may occur in drier climates. Carvings and measurements may vary slightly from photos."

Above is the instructions from sellers. They are taking orders in case you need a matching one. They come in a light oak finish, gold finish, and lately have seen this darker finish. Mystery solved.

They started to come out with these since the 1990's. Our auction house had a pair of them then, and kept them on display !~
