Went to the Murrieta Rod Run this Saturday and ran into the actual truck the Johnny Lightning model I posted was based on. It is a 1965 Chevrolet truck and Johnny Lightning made a model of it in the Hot August Night series. I posted the model a few weeks ago so now here is the real one.
Note this is the actual truck not just one like it.
Photo 2 shows the Johnny Lightning version.
Photo 3 is a Corvair, I like Corvairs, they are delightfully odd.
Photo 4 I forget but it is an older car.
Cool Pics. Love the truck. Does your Johnny Lightning come equipped with a K&N cold air injection system like the real one? :)
I believe pic 1 is what mine once looked like! Awesome!
Thank you very much buckethead. I do not think it does.

Looks like the stock motor in the model.
Thank you very much shareurpassion.Cool truck.
I love pics 3 & 4 Fort! Back in the seventies, my brother-in-law had a lavender Corvair which I loved. I wasn't old enough to drive, but he would let me sit sit in the driver's seat and listen to the radio (AM of course). I believe the last pic is a mid-forties Hudson.
I want the simple yellow model, lol! Such a stunning car.
Fantastic post.
