Not my usual fare, but still, I couldn't walk away from this rather good op shop find. This pair of Venetian glass candlesticks are made from a mix of pale pink & clear glass with gold leaf inclusions. The stems are shaped like stylised dolphins. The glass is very thin & they are extremely delicate - quite astonishing to think they survived the often rough & tumble fate of being boxed up & donated to charity.
Slight variations between the size of the pair, but they sit very nicely together. The height is 13.5 cm tall. My guess is that they date from the mid 20th century.
BEAUTIFUL Venetian glass-- understand your inability to leave these.
I am a huge fan of these and have many similar pieces!

Venetian glass has always been one of my favorites, I also have many pieces.
I'm liking the pinks and golds. The dolphin stems are great. Love it, glad you saved them.
What a beautiful pair Lace. These are commonly attributed to Salviati, but unfortunately most aren't. On a true Salviati piece, the dolphin is not as chunky but is thinner and more delicate. Very collectible! Here is a link to a pair that sold back in 2010...

Thank you most kindly, Alan2310.
These are gorgeous IL!
Another learning post for me. I would have thought them Salviati but a true knowledgeable glassie has set me straight, and even better, why. Thanks Rick:)

Many thanks, racer4four & antiquerose!
