Inherited from my Great Grandmother, assuming it was made in the mid 1900's. Still in amazing condition with the original powder puff.

Does that say Pygmalion? it looks like it and is it round, like a ball? I have one too with the tinyist flat spot on the bottom for balance! It belonged to my great aunt and I've had it for yike 45 years. Mine is brass and looks new but the powder even tho it is still there is not stable anylonger but it's there along with the powder puff. The inside that holds the powder is bakelite by the way. Well in mine it is. Duh, I just saw your title! haha
Well, welcome to CW where you will find loads of great free info, learn way more than you ever imagined and find some really great loving people here!
Thank you so much for the warm welcome! Only been a day and I can't wait to start posting more of my items and viewing more of everyone else's! The puff does say Pymalion, the compact however is flat not round like most of the Pygmalion compacts that can be found. Can't wait to find out more and learn more!
Here's mine!

Not the greatest pic. Mine is brass and I actually shined it up with some polish, which I don't prefer to use as I get migranes from all that, but I have to say, they were areas on it I thought were totally ruined but came out as if it were brand new! I originally thought mine was gold plated but no, it's brass. You just have to remember when you polish it, if you decide to that all the polish residue must be removed, if not, that's where the damage starts,
That is such a unique piece! Really beautiful. I'll be really careful when cleaning it, would break my heart if any damage were to happen.
