Bought at a local estate sale. They said it had been hanging in their lake cottage for years and years. I know it's a Seth Thomas and shows on the back Directions for Redding Model #E478-000 with key wind movement, A020-000. Catalog #2725. On the back of the works it shows Made in Germany for Seth Thomas Co in Conn. USA. If anyone knows anything about it, like age, etc, it would be appreciated.

      Hi,
A lovely clock you have there. I would say it is from the 50's. Thanks!

Just ran across your post regarding the Seth Thomas wall clock and I believe I can give you a tiny bit of info on its age. I have the very same clock hanging on my wall right now and I inherited it from my folks when they passed away. During the early to mid 60's my family lived in Chicago and my Father was a manager for a private security guard service that covered conventions. There was a Home Show at the McCormick Place and Seth Thomas had a booth there. When the show was over the representative of the booth gave my Father the clock as a gift, it had been a show piece. I guess it was easier to give it away than pack it up. So there is the answer to it's age. Hope this helps.
