Hello everyone.
Thought you might like to see this.
It is a Victorian gold filled bookchain and locket. (is book chain one word or two? I can never remember lol, should have looked it up before I started this!!)
I have had it for 9 years now and really love it.
The decorative links on the chain are the same on both sides.
I don't know if the locket is original to it, but this is how I bought it.
I have worn it a couple of times and help is certainly needed to do it up as those old spring rings do not have much to hold on to.
Can't see any markings on the chain or locket. Not much more I can say about this except that I think it is lovely, hope you do too! Thanks, Judy
Lovely and complete, with its "extender", Judy :-)
I always wonder if stick pin or hat pin have to be written stickpin or hatpin.... In doubt, I use both, alternatively ;-)))
Beautiful locket Tassiedevil, I used to love wearing them with two fave pix inside

Hi Pascale, thank you. It is great that it's complete isn't it!
Hmmm, spelling, I used to be good at it lol but as I am getting older I seem to be second guessing myself all the time! Takes me so long to write a description for a post because I am being so careful to try and spell everything properly!!
Hi Jenni, thank you:-) Yes I wear lockets with pictures of family in them sometimes and even wear some with their original pictures still in them! I never remove any old pictures!
Please, call me Judy:-)
Thanks so much for the lovely comment Ken, I really do appreciate it :-) )
Fortapache, Hel1,Pascale, Jenni, Mike and Ken, thank you for the love,it is always appreciated :-)
Nice to meet you Judy, I didn't really think you were a tasmanian devil lol, but as you can tell I love all animals and think they're too cute to be called devils-J
Oohhh, Judy, keeping these old pics is very thoughtful and delicate, I too never trash what was cherished memories of the antique previous owners...
Ah, forgot to say about spelling... the damn autocorrect!
Pist for post... live for love... ;-))
Great score Tassie, I almost do not see the locket, the chain is THAT beautiful !~
Lol Jenni, yes they are cute but vicious :-)
Thanks Pascale, happy you think the same as I do about the photos, so many people just discard them! Have even seen on Ebay sellers saying they removed pictures so the buyer can put their own in!!
At least we are looking after the memories :-) )
Haha! The spelling :-) )
Oh, PhilD, thank you for such a beautiful comment, I think I am pretty lucky to have it in my collection! The good thing too is that the drop is removable so the chain can be worn by itself as well:-)
Hello Ms Crystal, thank you very much for your wonderful comment:-) )
I had wanted one of these for quite a while so I had to grab it when I saw it as I knew it would be the only one I would ever have!!
JImam, Jean, Ms Crystal, PhilD, Fleamarket, Aura, Rick and Vetraio, thanks very much everyone for the love, it is really appreciated :-) )
That's a great piece Judy, and as you have indicated, very wearable. So is a bookchain book chain called that because of the link shape?
Hi Karen, thank you.
I was only reading about the "why" today and some say yes because of the shape of the links, and others say because of the actual chain being so flat like it is, it could be used as a book mark.
I suppose it could go either way! Maybe others can add to this.......
Thanks for the love too Karen:-)
Thanks for the love Caperkid, it is always great to have you visit:-)
Appreciate the love Toni and Sean, thank you both:-)
The locket itself is just beautiful. It looks quite heavy? There is much to envy here.
Hi Gillian, thank you for the nice comment:-)
No, the locket is not overly heavy, certainly not enough to make wearing it uncomfortable :-) I is quite solid though!
Appreciate the love Buckethead, Gillian and Subi, thanks very much:-) )
