I don't know anything about furniture. We inherited this piece and are currently using it as our tv stand for flat screen. Any info of age, kind of wood would be interesting. Has wooden castors. Has a hook to keep bottom left cabinet closed. Not in the best shape but it's still functional. No markings that I found. Eastern PA. Thanks for any help- just curious if we should be giving it more tlc!

I'm nobody's expert in old furniture either -- but certainly wouldn't call that piece "trash"...?? ;-) :-)

By the pics, it looks like its exterior is made of (mostly solid?) quarter-sawn oak. That, with wooden casters and its general style, would make me guess it is early 1900's. (but that's *only* a guess!) Others will have to comment whether its hardware (presuming original?) or any other detail would give a further clue to its exact style/date/manufacturer.

I CAN say for a fact that it is a *much* prettier piece of furniture than that which currently holds up *my* flatscreen TV...?! <lol>

Thanks for the info, I found a replacement drawer pull online that seems to match the broken one. The brand is Royal St. John which is printed on the metal. The cover for the key hole is missing, wish I could find one of those.
