I bought this Pilgrams Decanter with Flowers and Butterfly's 15 years ago in an auction in Enfield Middx England. I was told it was a Pilgrams Decanter no glasses but I do believe there were glasses with this decanter originally. I'm not sure when it was made but I'm sure it is hand blown. On viewing I fell in love with the enameled Butterfly's and pink foliage decorating the whole decanter including the stopper. Unfortunately one of the side pinches has broken off, I did have it some years back but can not find it now. What I would like to know is what year it was made and who made this beautiful decanter.
Thanks to everyone who viewed this beautiful decanter.
Beautiful !
It's really lovely.
Thank you Manikin & Adelle it is a very beautiful decanter. I'd love to know more about it.
My first thought was Salviati, but too much enamel, then I thought Legras, but the wrong of enamel. The form of the foot makes think this must be Bohemian. It's super super quality. I would say 1880-1940. I know it's a big window of time but that is the period when donut decanters were made, and as I can't pin a maker that is as close I as I am willing to go. Very nice though, and still has some vlue even with damage.
Thank you lovedecanters, I'll now do some research on the information you have given me. Is it a doughnut decanter or Pilgrams decanter??
