Everyone knows about the Weed Family Favorite sewing machine, I'm sure. Here's a rare one you don't see around. In fact, I've yet to see another. I estimate it at 1875.
Oddities on this machine vs the F.F.
* On the bed is a P.F.
* The tensioner is not a separate piece and is cast in place.
* The arm for the needle bar has a slide, vs having a multi piece connection.
The ONLY information I've been able to find for this model was a brief mention in the March 20th, 1880 copy of Scientific America where it notes that it is the cheapest of 4 models. The People's Favorite, Family Favorite and two General Favorite models which are built for industry.
If anyone stumbles onto more information, or knows more about this model, would love to hear.
