Antique Two Piece Ink Well

This is a nice two piece Ink well. The metal base has impressed farmers or pioneers. The top of the well shows the same characters. The glass has beveled edges all around and in perfect condition. There is no signature that I can find. If anyone knows about this piece, please let me know.
It is basically a mystery piece to me as far as country of origin and value.
