Just bought it, not in hands yet...
Thinking about how to repair the lacking leaves...
3.5cm round, over 10 grams!
Unmarked, seller tested it as 925 (obvious acid mark, grrr!).
How can people think it is so IMPORTANT to test such pieces for silver content, when it is evident it isn't base white metal...
It as a Guild of Handicrafts feeling to me, but the leaves are kind of moulded and not of quality you'd expect for the Guild...
Any idea, Jewels1900 and A&C collectors?
Very nice.
Such a beautiful brooch ! I am sure you can figure out how to make the missing leaves but just as it is I love love !! xo
Hi Krya, it looks to me like those clusters of leaves are cast. Can you remove one group & have a couple cast & then replace them?
It has a good designer feel, but I think this is in the style of, but made by a slightly lesser experienced jeweller. It's very nice though, I like it and it would go fabulously with an Artificers Guild ring I have.
Hope you are well xxx.
Thank you Jean!
Mani! Thanks for your kind comment and love love of it :-) XOXO
Jewels1900, thank you for your opinion and advice! having no skillful jeweler under hand, I was thinking of making a print of the single leaf in place, duplicate it twice in polymer clay applied with gold leaf... Not professional repair, but challenging kyratisation!
Completely agree with your analysis, rather a nice apprentice piece :-)
Whoohh, already 16 lovers! Thanks to all of you, friends and love back :-D
Hi Pascale, this is lovely and so unusual!! I'm sure you can work your magic on it too:-) )
It is very annoying to see that acid mark isn't it!!
My sister has been visiting for 3 days so I haven't had much time for CW......so playing catch up now!
I hope to at least get some pictures taken now of a couple of new pieces and get them posted tomorrow :-) )
Judy, thank you for being confident in my kyratisation... An for your lovely visit :-D
Yep, awful mark... Former cases I had before even not disappeared with simichrome polish!
