I have researched a Christian W. Schlieper that was bottling soda water dating back to 1869. His soda water factory was located at 925 N. 8th Street in St. Louis, Missouri. Soda water was bottled at this location until 1906.
Christian died in 1877 as a result of a horse and wagon accident. Christian's wife Catherine was proprietor of the business from his death until 1882 or 1883. In 1883 Catherine partners with a Louis G. Graf and the company is renamed Schlieper & Graf.
Pic #1 shows a C. Schlieper & Co. that was probably bottled by Catharine and would date to 1880-1882. This bottle has the L & W mark (Lorentz & Wightman, Pittsburgh PA.)
Pic #2 shows an early Schlieper & Graf. This bottle has the FH mark (Frederick Heitz Glass Work, St. Louis Mo.)
Pic #3 is an early 1900 bottle that has an S and a G intertwined. No maker determined.
Pic #4 shows two more with the one on the left being made by the Star Glass Co. of New Albany, Indiana and the right bottle being made by the Illinois Glass Co. of Alton, Illinois
