Scored a new addition to the 'noisemaker' collection today. :-)

This is a smallish example of an old horn type loudspeaker, likely originally used for signal/siren or public address application somewhere. It measures about 7" across and long, and still has its adjustable mounting bracket attached. The whole thing only weighs about 2-1/2 lbs despite its heavy-duty construction, I'm guessing much of it is actually made of aluminum.

Also guessing it was probably a gray color at first, it has long ago been spray painted gold -- including, sadly, its maker's tag on its end. Only upon close examination (after I bought it anyway, without knowing) did I notice the faintest shadow of an (*old*, I think?) embossed RCA logo initials still barely visible underneath the paint. (which the 3rd pic attempts to show) I haven't yet hooked it to any sort of audio source, but checking it with a meter strongly suggests that it is still in working condition. :-)

Just added a 4th pic to this post -- a very careful rubbing with lacquer thinner today ultimately revealed both the original RCA logo/label *and* the original painted color of this speaker. Also, I have now confirmed that it *is* still fully operational!!<applause>
