I’m absolutely thrilled to add this Amy Sandheim necklace to my art a craft collection.
From the top of the bale to the bottom it measures approx 8 cm a lovely large size. As you can see from the photos there is a large blue lapis teardrop if you look at the photos you can see what seems to be a crack it is actually a natural vein running through the stone. I have to say I only picked up on that when I’d taken the photos to put here on CW. I’ve looked at the drop from every angle and there is no crack :-)
On the silver swivel there are an abundance of silver leaves and Moonstones one stone is in the shape of a heart. The back is covered in leaves, no Moonstones, unfortunately no makers mark . The pendant as a wonderful period chain which sets of this necklace, in my opinion to perfection. This really is a super piece.

    Many thanks for looking

Super duper wow piece, Jean! And with the chain!!! Lucky you :-)
The stone is a Swiss Lapis, blue dyed jasper, very used in that era :

      Jean,

Is it possible to get your email address, I would like to send you something I've found.

      Mine is: gillycr@gmail.com

Was just looking through all the items you have posted, and it's simply one of the very best collections I've ever seen. Do you have special display cases for your jewelry? Whenever you post something I can sit and stare at it for a long time.

      All the best,
      Gillian

      Hi Gillian,

Thank you for dropping by it’s much appreciated. I do have some in cabinets but my collections are quickly growing. I’m trying to keep to the Art and Craft movement, Bernard Instone Amy Sandheim and many more. I also have a substantial amount of brickwork jewellery by Jakob Bengel. I’m really pleased that you are enjoying my collections. :-))

Hi Jean, I hope all is well with you & that you're sneaking in some markets while you're busy in the UK.

Lov'n your pendant. Especially the heart moonstone and the lillypad bale. I've never seen a bale like before (although I've seen a grape one).

I think the chain is original to the drop, I have a large Sandheim necklace that has that double T clasp. I've never seen that before until your necklace.

Do you know what the little hole in the front is for?

Hello Jewels1900, No unfortunately I haven’t been to any markets, I’ve been tied up with other things. I hope your well and will be posting soon.

I’m really pleased you like this pendant it’s a cracker. To his knowledge the seller did say the chain was original. He also pointed out the tiny hole at the front but couldnt elaborate why it was there.
I’ve just posted a ring which I think is Mary Thew, I would appreciate if you could a look at it and give me your verdict.

Hi Jean, does the hole on the back (which seems to have a ring holding onto the stone drop) correspond to the hole in the front? If so check that the stone is secure, just in case those holes are there because the stone has come out and the holes were made to reattach it.

The stone drops in my Sainheim pendants are held in by a triangle shaped 'ring' from the top of the mount. Not secured from the back. You'll likely find the same attachment inside your rock crystal drop.

Just a thought. Could be completely wrong but it's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to a hunk of lapis that big.

Wouldn't it have been COOL if that little hole once held a little tremblar frog? Or even just a frog. SO beautiful!
    13. Celiene Celiene, 7 years ago
I think the silver dot next to the hole corresponds with the stone mount in the back.
    14. Jewels1900 Jewels1900, 7 years ago
Hi Celiene, I'm very fond of frogs. The silver dot or ball is part of the design.
    15. Jewels1900 Jewels1900, 7 years ago
No Celene, I take that back. I had a look at one I have that is very similar & you are right. The ball on mine is part of the mechanism that's holding in the stone. Well spotted.
