I got this at the same estate sale as the Authors of the United States print. Albert Fandrey was born in Germany January 1st 1864 and died in the US in November 21 1941. He lived in Grand Rapids Michigan in the 1930s and worked for a furniture company there. He would copy works of art at the Wilson Dodge House in Grand Rapids and this is one that was completed in 1938. He made the frame from furniture trim and molding. The mural at the Indiana-Putnam County Courthouse is attributed to him. He also did commission works. It is done on a wood panel 24 by 35 and the frame is 31 1/2 by 43. I know its a copy work and he signed it that way but it is beautiful. Please enjoy as I do.
Newfld, SpiritBear, PhilDMorris, fortapache, and ho2cultcha Thank You for loving this work.
Thank You glassiegirl, I did find a bio on him from a relative of his who lives in the Grand Rapids Michigan area and it did mention he had worked for different companies before living in Michigan. It also said he had applied for patents but I'm not sure for what they were as this article was about him and his art. If I find more on him I will let you know. It could well have been him because of his artistic life.
Thank You All for loving this.
