I have an obvious love of geometric lines and have always admired airbrushed (spritzdekor) pottery and glass from the 1920s/30s. I recently purchased this porcelain jar made by the Czech porcelain company Gebruder Mehner and was curious to know if it was meant as a jardiniere or is missing a cover. What do you guys think?
fabulous design!!
Thanks Sean!
your welcome Sara !!
What are the dimensions please.
Hi Gillian, 5.3" by 5.1"
I think it's a jar missing its' lid. It's kind of multi-use though. You could put a smallish plant in it I suppose - but no drainage.
It's a beautiful jar, and perhaps using it as a planter would detract from the gorgeous design?
Very nice indeed.
Gorgeous design. I love spritzdekor! Nice colors. Lid is missing. You cound have a lid made of copper or something that matches if it really bothers you, but it is such a nice piece on it's own.
