Hello everyone.
I bought this from an antique shop a few weeks ago because I really love this shade of blue, as well as the old push in barrel clasp chain.
The seller said it is a European piece and the stone is paste.
I will try to describe the construction of this pendant.
It is made in 2 sections by the look of it with one bezel holding the top of the stone and a second bezel underneath holding the base of the stone, if that makes sense!
The top bezel is marked Sterling Silver . 927, which is curious in itself and I have not been able to identify this!
The bottom bezel is marked METAL.
The stone is faceted on the outside edge only on the front, but on the back is fully faceted which makes the pendant really sparkle.The back is not flat at all.
Would very much like to hear your thoughts or ideas on this please as I haven't been able to find anything similar at all! Thanks, Judy

Very nice colored paste! Never seen that construction on a marked metal base, nor 927 sterling mark, a total mystery, I hope someone will know... BONNIE!?

My ears are burning..... I know of no European country that uses 927 as a purity mark but did find a reference to Italy. Having the words "sterling silver" and then the 927 is somewhat strange.
Thanks Eileen,925 sterling silver is normally fairly easy to identify with a country of origin, 927 does not appear to be one of the many recognised standards of purity for silver, wherein lies the mystery!
If there was a makers mark as well we might have been able to track it down....anyway thanks very much for taking an interest and going to the trouble of googling, that is really great:-) Glad you love it too, it really is very pretty.

This is the only link I could find that mentions (2nd paragraph) that they specifically use 927 silver, but no mention of jewellery!
