This big baby belongs to a friend, she wanted to discard it as it was rather dull, full of grime and oxydation, about 9 rhinestones lacking...

I told her, it was gilded silver, from the WWII era, when costume jewelry was made from silver because of war needed metal supply@

She still wanted to give it to me... I told her I'd kyratise it and she would decide after the result...

No surprise! She was stumped and, as I knew, is very happy to get it back and will wear it proudly :-))

Pics 1 and 2 are after kyratisation, pics 3 and 4 are before...
No marks at all, can anybody point towards a possible maker?

Diagonal is 7cm, height is 5cm!

I was thinking this looks like a Harry Isken ribbon piece. I think that's how to spell his name. They were mostly made of sterling silver and then looking at the 2nd photo, I could almost say I'm positive it is one of his pieces. These were made as both brooches AND pendants. The "bale" is usually not a true bale but a hook and it looks as if this one has been broken off. That part was not a well thought out design. the 'bale' was always in the way. You are right about the time...50's and you might want to check because I think it is sterling silver. Nice to see you and ohhh, your poor dog! Does he/she eat with those teeth??? LOL!

Hi Sue! Thanks for your input :-)
I checked for Harry ISKIN pieces, the most similar design I found is this gold filled bow brooch:
      https://m.ebay.com/itm/Signed-HI-Harry-Iskin-1-20-12K-Gold-Fill-Pin-Brooch-Clear-Blue-Stone-Bow-Ribbon/132395923187?_mwBanner=1
But the construction is not similar, and nothing is broken on the one I posted (not belonging to me, but a friend's!) Nor any trace of mark...
I know it is gilded silver/vermeil, as in my title ;-) which situe it during WW2 era.

Lol for doggie! Not mine either! From Internet a Brasilian dog found a denture while digging in her garden... owner took pics before trashing the denture :-)))

Lol! That's funny about the dog!!! Now my vision is even worse tonite as I can't get into my pc, only this darn phone and I'm about ready to throw it...but then I'd just have to but a new one...nah don't wanna go there. But last night I also looked for brooches of his on line and there were none similar. Surprised. I also thought I had posted mine before and was going to link it for you but I guess not. NOW I'm gonna have to wait till I toss the pc out the window, buy a new one so I could show you why I came to that conclusion. Yes it's still the same damn pc , I'm telling you...It's halfway out the window now!!! Omg kyra! Now I get why they call it Windows!!! Lol!!!

Ha! Windows... hence the name, good one, lol :-D

Oh wow. the link you have here looks just like it right?! I hope you know I respect you in every way Ms P, I just thought it was soooo much like my Harry Iskin that...well and to me the back part did look like it was missing that 'hook'! I havent had a chance to really look for my brooch although if I just reach straight in front of me, it's probably right there but then you also know that always seems to be the place you can't find them...when they are right in front of your face and when you finally find it ya just KNOW it wasn't there a second ago!!! Those are the moments I think...Ok, who put that there!!! Oh and the windows thing...now doesn't that finally make some kind of sense lol I
m pretty certain that when everything was being configured for the first time, Bill Gates was seriously ready to throw it out the window!!! That just has to be it! AHHH, Anyway... I am wondering if I have the name of my brooch wrong because now I can't find not one that looks like it. Another one of those things!

Oh and one more thing I found out! I have to use two different pairs of glasses now! I figured that out while taking photos of all things. I just couldn't figure out why all my photos were coming out blurry! lol The worst part is when I have to switch, I can't find the other pair...no, the worst is when I can't find either.... And such is my life!!! Oh somebody HELP ME!!! You would think I would go to an eye doc and get the real deal.
